About the Documentary
A Chronicle of My Cultural Revolution
The documentary is divided into two storylines. One covers the betrayals, distorted human nature, and the sporadic kindness Xu Xing experienced during the Cultural Revolution, and the reconciliation that takes place decades later. In the other storyline, the director appears in the film as both the first-person narrator and someone who revisits the past.
