The shift and transformation that took place in the 1960s and 1970s facilitated Hong Kong’s development and progress. Fifty years later today, the game is different. However, Hong Kong and Hongkongers seem not to be ready for the new normal.

The Cultural Revolution broke out in China in 1966, and it triggered the 1967 Riots in Hong Kong. The Communist Party of Hong Kong attempted to use bombs to overturn the British Hong Kong Government. The wounds remain unhealed even today.
