Even though this created job opportunities, these corporates were also said to have destroyed the local community and culture. How should multinationals change their image as a plunderer, and be socially responsible? How should the people unite in solidarity, and create new opportunities?

A western multinational corporation bought a gold mine in Guinea. It then dismantled a gold mine in Indonesia, shipped the gigantic machinery to Guinea, reconstructed it there, and started gold mining. All of a sudden, the villagers who used to pan gold to make up for insufficient crop harvest became the “gold thieves.”
