Your Stocks, My Planet

Controlling mineral resources means holding power. Corporate groups crossed borders and took over other countries’ mining, coastal development, and land development rights. Even though this created job opportunities, these corporates were also said to have destroyed the local community and culture. How should multinationals change their image as a plunderer, and be socially responsible? How should the people unite in solidarity, and create new opportunities?

About the Documentary

End of a Rainbow
A western multinational corporation bought a gold mine in Guinea. It then dismantled a gold mine in Indonesia, shipped the gigantic machinery to Guinea, reconstructed it there, and started gold mining. All of a sudden, the villagers who used to pan gold to make up for insufficient crop harvest became the “gold thieves.”
